Businesses helping their local communities
We are fortunate to have the support of many local businesses. Thanks to them we can reach more supporters, raise more funds, and help even more young people.
The businesses that support us do so because they believe in what we do and want to be seen to help young people in the communities where they operate.
We know that every business is different and has different ways it might want to get involved. We would be delighted to explore with you what best suits you and your employees, but here are a few examples from our current supporters:
YH Training provide SASH with a £39 donation for each young person who signs up to one of their training activities. This donation equates to two nights’ worth of expenses at Nightstop.
D E Ford
D E Ford have chosen us as their charity of the year. They have held a bake-off for SASH, secured a grant of £2,500 from one of their partners, collected Christmas presents and provided help with marketing.
The Helmsley Group
The Helmsley Group have donated £3,125 towards our Big Give 2018 campaign and Chairman John Reeves has taken part three times in our Sleepout. He said:
“Youngsters in trouble need all the help they can get and in our view SASH provide a practical and safe alternative to hostels for youngsters who may have housing issues. We are proud to help and hope others will too”
Hudson Moody helped get our Home for Good campaign off the ground. Visitors and residents around York can now see ‘Home for Good’ signs on some of their most prominent properties throughout the city. Hudson Moody has also sponsored our summer picnic and provided some of our young people with move-on grants.
Director Tarnia Hudson said:
“We chose to support SASH because it provides such a valuable lifeline to young people and we are especially proud to be actively supporting the Home for Good initiative in York and surrounding areas.”
Letters Property Management
Letters are supporters of our Home for Good campaign.
“Letters Property Management are delighted to partner SASH to deliver Homes for Good. A safe secure place to live is essential for health and wellbeing; this is even more important for vulnerable young people. Letters, an independent York family business, wish SASH every success with this innovative and exciting initiative.” Anya Mathewson, Managing Director
"I got a place at the University of York. I had always wanted to go to university, to be around like-minded people."
