By remembering SASH through a gift in your Will you are making a unique commitment.
When you leave a gift in your Will to SASH you can be sure that we will use your gift in the most efficient and effective way possible, helping safeguard young people against homelessness.
- There are three ways to make a gift to SASH in your Will:
Residuary gift: you could choose to leave a share, or the whole, of what is left in your estate once you have provided for you loved ones.
- Pecuniary gift: a fixed amount of money. If you choose to leave a fit in this way please be aware that its value may reduce over time in line with inflation.
- Specific gift: an item such as jewellery or property.
Please follow the processes below If you would like to make a Gift in your Will to SASH
If you have already made a will
If you have already made a will, but would like to leave a gift to SASH, you can do so by making a simple addition to your existing will. This is called a codicil.
If you have not already made a will
If you do not have a will at the moment, we would strongly advise you to see a solicitor. Although you will have to pay a fee, you will receive professional advice and can be sure that your wishes are achieved.
If you would like to make a gift in your Will the following wording could be used:
‘I give [xxx] to SASH (Safe & Sound Homes) of 107-109 Walmgate, York, YO1 9UA, Charity Registration Number 1054890 for its general charitable purposes and I declare that the receipt of the Director or other proper officer of SASH shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said legacy.’
If you choose your own wording please ensure you use our full address and registered charity number: Safe and Sound Homes, 107-109 Walmgate, York YO1 9UA. Registered Charity 1054890.
When I was 11 my mum died, and when I was 12 my dad died.
