Light Up the Night to Tackle Youth Homelessness In York: Join SASH’s Neon Walk this World Homeless Day
On Friday 10th October, Safe and Sound Homes (SASH) is inviting the York community to glo out in style and take part in our ‘Neon Walk for Change’ event. A vibrant, family-friendly 5km walk to raise awareness and funds for young people facing homelessness.
The evening will start from 6:30pm at the Innovation Centre, University of York. YorkMix alongside Mixie Monster will be hosting an evening of live entertainment, music, refreshments, and a glowing neon warm-up.
Walkers will set off at 8:30pm and begin the 5km circular route that starts and finishes at the Innovation Centre. Along the neon route participants will be able to enjoy a variety of glowing musical performances.
Event Highlights:
• Date: Friday 10th October 2025
• Time: Arrive from 6:30pm for entertainment and neon warm-up. Walk begins at 8:30pm
• Start Location: Innovation Centre, University of York
• Distance: 5km – suitable for all fitness levels
• Entry Fee: £15 per adult / £10 per child (ages 5+)
• Entry Fee includes a Neon Walk for Change t-shirt and glow sticks
• Who Can Join: Individuals, groups, families (children over 5), and dogs on leads are welcome!
