Ruth Somerville

Trustee

A primary school teacher by profession, Ruth has been involved with York charities and the voluntary sector for many years.  She has worked and volunteered with children and families all her life.  Alongside her husband, she has been a host for SASH for four years and they have welcomed various teenagers into their home, mostly Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children.  Ruth has been a trustee for other charities in York and has been Chair of Governors at both Primary and Secondary level with much experience of governance.
