Here at SASH we value all our volunteers and we are always keen to have their contribution to their local community more widely recognised.
We were therefore delighted to hear that Julie Pilmoore, who has been hosting for SASH for just over a year, was one of the winners at the Annual Selby District Valuing Volunteer Awards.
Julie has opened up her home to vulnerable young people on 74 occasions over the past year, which earned her the award under the Community Safety category at the ceremony on 1 November.
Julie was awarded a certificate and voucher for £100, presented by Inspector Michelle Falkingham of the Community Safety Partnership.
The event was attended by Nigel Adams MP as well as the Chief Executive of Selby District AVS Linda Slough and the newly appointed Chief Executive of Selby District Council and assistant Chief Executive of NYCC Mary Weastell.
The award is sponsored by the Selby District Community Safety Partnership to recognise and place value on volunteers in the district who give their time to make their neighbourhoods safer places to live and enjoy.
