SASH Active at Peat Rigg

11th September 2017

Last month we took 10 of our Supported Lodgings young people in Scarborough to Peat Rigg Outdoor Centre.

The three-day residential trip, funded by the Ed De Nunzio Charitable Trust,  was a chance for them to experience some activities they had never done before and maybe challenge themselves a little.

During their time at the centre, the young people got to try a great range of activities including zip lining, orienteering, an assault course, archery, abseiling and more! From the feedback, its seems the trip was a great success and certainly achieved its aims:

My favourite bits were the orienteering and the zip line.  I enjoyed very moment – massive thank you to everyone who funded this!” Harley

It was a great chance to get to know each other and it pushed us! I would love to do more activities like this” Angel

I was reluctant to come to Peat Rigg as I didn’t think I would enjoy it. I am glad I came as I have overcome so many fears and done things I never thought I would. The scariest activity was abseiling but when you overcome the fear and do it it feels amazing!” Courtney

The trip was run as part of our SASH Active programme, which is funded entirely by donations from organisations and businesses.  If you too would like to support us in providing these opportunities to our young people, please email Gary Hogg or call us on 01904 652043.
