Aviva Employability Workshop
We were delighted to welcome staff from Aviva to our office last week to run an employability workshop for our young people.
The session last Friday afternoon provided a wealth of information for our young people in Supported Lodgings in Harrogate, Selby and York, designed to help them apply for jobs.
19 year old Rhiannon told us: “I learnt how to make myself more presentable to an employer, how to talk to them, how to write a CV so that it’s more appealing to employers and make sure it’s my CV that goes through the door and not in the bin! It was really useful and I really enjoyed it.”
Ryan, 17, equally got a lot out of the session: “I found it very useful. I’ve learnt a load of new skills and how to apply for jobs with different companies, how to write CVs which I didn’t know before and different techniques in interviews. I’m looking forward to putting it into practice.”
Huge thanks to the team from Aviva for taking the time to do this for our young people, it is very much appreciated.
