SASH’s ‘Open Doors’ Campaign Wins Campaign of the Year at Institute of Fundraising Yorkshire Awards 2020
On the 29th July 2020, SASH were delighted to receive the 2020 Institute of Fundraising Yorkshire Awards for ‘Fundraising Campaign of the Year’. We’re very proud of our team and so thankful to all our amazing supporters who helped make the Open Doors campaign a success.
Launched in late 2019, Open Doors focused on maximising the upturn in giving during the Christmas period, when the issue of homelessness particularly resonates with people. Our Fundraising Team spent time researching our donors’ motives for giving and setting out defined fundraising and engagement goals. By using real case studies showcasing SASH’s alternative solution to youth homelessness, we were able to create a powerful, emotive campaign video.
The campaign raised over £17,000 for vulnerable young people as well as helping SASH launch a significant corporate partnership. The final total raised was over £7,000 over our initial fundraising target, as well as seven times the sum invested in producing the campaign materials.
Philippa Robson, Chief Executive of SASH, commented:
“I would like to say a big thank you to Ingrid who so powerfully told her story of homelessness. I would also like to thank all our staff who were involved in the successful development of this campaign. This was a real team effort which required input from different teams across the charity and the young people who we are here to support.”
SASH are so grateful to have been acknowledged in this way by the Institute of Fundraising Yorkshire. Small organisations like ourselves rely on teamwork, creativity and relentless dedication. All the charities nominated for this award in this year’s ceremony are doing incredible work in Yorkshire and beyond. We’re honored to have been recognised as peers in the fundraising space.
