Ahoy there!!!

Jolly Lodgers on the Ouse

Four of our Supported Lodgings young people aged 17 to 20 had a fantastic day at the York Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge earlier this month, thanks to our wonderful supporters at Britcab.

The crew was made up of Ollie, Suzan, Georgia, Kieran, our Britcab colleagues and other lovely supporters. Everyone had a great day in glorious sunshine, despite getting a little bit wet and out of breath!

“It was a really great experience that I enjoyed a lot, we all had a fun day.” Suzan

“It was good to raise money for SASH and for St Leonards Hospice.”Georgia

The challenge was offered to our young people as part of our SASH Active programme. We are aiming to raise £1,500 from the event, two thirds of which will come to SASH with the remainder going to the Rotary Club’s chosen charity for this year, St Leonards Hospice.

Our sincere thanks to our young people for their efforts and great team spirit, to Britcab for making it possible (and for the special team T-shirts!), to Sainsburys Bishopthorpe Road for the picnic lunch and last but not least, Rotary Club of York for organising another fantastic event.
