What Does Homeless Look Like?

It might not be what you think.

You might not see young homeless people sleeping on the streets of North Yorkshire. That doesn’t mean they
don’t exist. They are more likely to be ‘sofa-surfing’, not knowing where they will stay each night. They are open to
abuse and exploitation. Their future prospects are bleak.

SASH helps vulnerable young people avoid homelessness by offering them a room in the home of one of our volunteer ‘hosts’. We keep them safe, support them to continue in work or education and make sure they get the help they need to resolve their problems. We are looking for more hosts for young people in your area. All you need is a spare room and a willingness to help.
