A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Thanks to the kind people at Lunchbox Productions, a group of very lucky young people in our Supported Lodgings scheme were treated to a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Rose Theatre last Thursday.
Only one of the group had ever seen a live Shakespeare performance before. The tickets were for the Groundlings, the area directly in front of the stage, and they found it a fantastic atmosphere (though they were glad they’d taken cushions!).
Every one of the young people loved it, but you don’t need to take it from us. Here’s their feedback in their own words:
“I REALLY enjoyed the show, it was absolutely AMAZING, I was howling the whole way through. My favourite bit was the wall in the play, that was REALLY funny. Thank you so much to the people who gave us the tickets.” Beth

“I LOVED it! I liked that they had switched the gender roles of some of the characters; it was funny, modern and felt up to date. It was so good and I’m so glad that we got the opportunity to see it. Thank you so much to the people who gave us the tickets.” Jadzia

“If you want to be entertained for three hours in a fantastic setting, watching a brilliant cast perform a classic and funny Shakespeare play then go and see A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Rose Theatre before the run ends on 02 September, you won’t be disappointed.
